"The photos Sarah took are far more than a photoshoot - it is a legacy we will forever hold. Sarah's attention to the the subtle details, the stolen moments, and the little glimpses into the reality of mothering will forever be cherished."
The classic family portrait session. My most popular, 3 hour evening photoshoot captured during the soft buttery light of a setting sun.

Yes! It’s a great honor when my clients feel compelled to ship me to their neck of the woods. For locations exceeding a two-hour journey from my home of Bremerton, WA, I’m happy to prepare an estimate for time and travel expenses to get to your destination.
I live on the Kitsap Peninsula in Bremerton, WA. It’s a ferry ride away from Seattle, where the majority of my photo sessions take place.
My focus with photography is capturing timeless, artistic portraits that require connection and breathing room to achieve. For this reason I do not offer mini sessions as they lack the spaciousness to fully capture the depth and beauty of your story to the degree I always strive for.
Thankfully, I’ve always found success in my long-form sessions. Not bound by time restrictions, we are free to play and wander. A lot of effort goes into preparing for a photo session, so it’s important that we take advantage of the moment by taking the time to become comfortable with one another. This is how we’ll capture the relaxed, candid moments that don’t feel rushed or manufactured.
Yes! I’ve got an arsenal of beautiful landscapes and dream settings to turn to. I’ll often research new locations and scout them for clients looking for a particular environment. Even if you have a vague idea, we can brainstorm together.
I get this comment often, so please know you are not alone. I am no stranger to navigating these feelings. We all have our trepidations about showing up to be photographed.
I’ll keep our session flowing with casual prompts to create an atmosphere of ease to help any tensions quickly dissipate. And I won’t leave you idle for any guesswork on what to do with your hands or what to focus on next if I see you’re in need of an energetic shift.
On the other side of these sessions is the delight of seeing yourself authentically documented. You deserve to have photographs of yourself worthy of your family legacy, and it is always my goal to give you this experience.
Please do! Animals are an essential part of family life, and I am always happy to include them. A little trick that I have is to have you bring along a trusted friend or family member that your pet is familiar with. They can be an extra set of hands to help wrangle pets in and out of photos.
Dressing authentically and being comfortable is key when stepping in front of the camera. Don’t be afraid to dress up if that is what calls to you, but also do not overlook the beauty in simplicity.
A statement color on a dress or a shoe, etc. is a wonderful way to add dimension, while keeping the majority of the family wardrobe to a general color theme. A pattern here or there will also add character and expression to the wardrobe line-up, as long as they marry together within the broader picture.
Laying out different options and seeing how they look together is a great way to brainstorm in order to find a combination that speaks to you. I’ve had my clients send photos of these layouts when they wanted a second opinion. I'm always happy to weigh in when that feels helpful.
Feel free to bring along a few clothing options if you’re having trouble narrowing it down. It’s sometimes easier to make these choices on location. In short, your clothing should enhance the feeling within your photos, and not detract from them.
Weather is one of the most important factors in getting my images to look the way they do. As we get closer to your session, I’m monitoring the weather and its correlation to all my upcoming bookings, making sure we have a good weather window. You’ll hear from me well before the day of our scheduled shoot if we need to move your session.
In the spring and summer, there is an abundance of sunshine to schedule sessions with. However, the fall and winter of the PNW provides considerably fewer optionable days. This limits the number of sessions I take on so no matter the season, your photo shoot will be my priority.
I'll send you a handful of images within 3 days so you have an idea of how your session turned out. Within three weeks, I will deliver your full gallery to you by email.
Within your gallery, you’ll have access to your web-sized and high-resolution images. I highly recommend downloading your full gallery immediately and backing it up to multiple places! Then you’re free to share and print as you please! I would be thrilled if you tag me online and text a photo if you frame your favorites. I love getting to see my work out in the wild!
Yes! My photos come with a print release. Your photos are yours to print at your leisure. You may take them to your favorite print shops or order prints through me (within your gallery). You’re not required to purchase your prints exclusively through me.
Yes! Professional portraiture is one of the most under-rated gift ideas in my humble opinion! I have gift certificates available at no additional cost to the session and curated gift boxes with a framed certificate available for purchase so you may wrap a physical representation of the photo session and gift it to your recipient.
